Who is Medha Patkar?

Indian social activist Medha Patkar is well-known for her efforts to defend the rights of underrepresented groups, particularly those uprooted by significant construction projects. Patkar, who was born in Mumbai, India, on December 1, 1954, became involved in activism at a young age, concentrating on issues pertaining to environmental justice, grassroots democracy, and displacement.
